7:30 p.m.

    Asylum Hill Congregational Church
    814 Asylum Avenue, Hartford, CT

conducted by Jack Anthony Pott, HC Assistant Music Director
      accompanied by James R. Barry

The rich and robust voices of The Men of the Hartford Chorale will be featured in our season-opening concert. This program was developed by the Chorale’s Assistant Music Director, Jack Anthony Pott, and encompasses an impressive array of music by distinguished American composers, including Fenno Heath (former director of the Yale Glee Club), Richard Nancy, Byron Adams, Walter Piston, Randall Thompson, Aaron Copland, and William Dawson.

A special component of the concert is the inclusion of two commissioned works. One is by Connecticut native Dan Campolieta, former organist of Asylum Hill Congregational Church and now pianist/arranger for the U.S. Army Band. The other is a special arrangement by Sarah Meneely-Kyder from her large-scale oratorio “Letter from Italy, 1944,” itself a commission of the Greater Middletown Chorale.
