Hartford Chorale Internship Scholarship Program
The Hartford Chorale introduced an internship program in 2006 for high school and college students
An internship is a fabulous opportunity to sing in a large, highly acclaimed symphonic chorus, performing major symphonic choral works with the region’s principal orchestra, the Hartford Symphony Orchestra, in addition to other performance opportunities. Our interns benefit from working alongside professional and experienced singers, being mentored by their vocal section leader and building unsurpassed vocal and choral experience under the direction of Music Director Richard Coffey. Click here to complete an internship application. Email email@example.com for an information packet.
All of our internships are funded by an internship scholarship. Interns are required to meet all of the membership expectations as well as complete an internship evaluation at the end of the season. This evaluation is sent to the intern’s school music director for whatever credit is agreed upon by that school.
Over the past few seasons, our students have come from the following schools: Cromwell High School, Farmington High School, Glastonbury High School, Simsbury High School, Central CT State University, Manchester Community College, Northwestern State University, Trinity College, Tunxis University, and The University of Connecticut.
If you are interested in an internship, please fill out the internship application form and we will be in touch with you!
D’Occhio Scholarship Fund
The D’Occhio Scholarship fund is in memory of Candido and Pacina D’Occhio, and was established to further students’ musical education in high school, college or post-graduate, or private education. Current Chorale interns in good standing are eligible to apply for the $500.00 award.
